"Schafwäsche in Mamre." ("Washing of sheep in Mamre."). In the center two rows of men standing in the water of a pond washing sheep. The pond is surrounded by a wooden fence. Except one man who seems to be European the others seem to be of African origin. In the background a flock of sheep and two buildings, one with a thatched roof, the other having a flat roof probably made of tin. Trees to the right and left. Imprinted on the image: "Schafwäsche. Mamre. S. A. W. No. 529." ("Washing of sheep. Mamre. S[outh] A[frica] W[est]. No. 529."). Photography faded.
