Title supplied by cataloger. Built in 1911 on 15 acres at the corner of 16th and Atlantic, the school was financed by a $240,000 city bond that passed in 1910. It replaced Long Beach High School which became an elementary school. The building was redesigned after the 1933 earthquake by architect Hugh Davies in an international style and adorned with Works Progress Administration murals. The empty campus of the Long Beach Polytechnic High School at 1600 Atlantic Ave. in Long Beach. The columned portico is the main entrance to the school and to the right the top of a cupola is just visible.
