Description
A large crowd of people hold posters and banners in support of presidential candidate Ángel Aníbal Guevara at his campaign rally. Wheelchair users in the foreground wear hats with "RR" and hold a poster with a portrait of Guevara wearing a military uniform. Many people in the crowd hold and wave small yellow flags. On March 8, 1982 Guevara won the presidential election although electoral fraud was claimed by other parties. A military coup prevented Guevara from assuming power and installed a three-man junta headed by General Efraín Ríos Montt.
