A Santa Monica realty man and civic leader, Bundy is also associated with the growth and development of Los Angeles and surrounding communities. He was the developer and subdivider of the famed Miracle Mile on Wilshire Boulevard and sold a corner of La Brea and Wilshire for $400,000, or $380,000 more than he paid for. Additionally, he was a pioneer of Brentwood real estate; Bundy Drive is named after him. Photograph caption dated September 16, 1930 reads, "Doeg's uncle, the famous Tom Bundy, is pictured at left. He and Maurice McLoughlin, "the California Comet" at right, former national doubles champions, gave Doeg his tennis education. Doeg's "cannonball" style of play is said greatly to resemble that of McLoughlin, California's first titlist. Both men are still enthusiastic devotees of the famous athletic pastime and are seen here in characteristic action."
