Tom Carrell served as a California assemblyman from 1963-1967, and as a state senator from 1967-1972. Neville Lewis was the San Fernando city attorney. Photograph caption dated May 12, 1949 reads "Neville Lewis, left, J. J. Lombardo, Tom Carrell and Norb Hargrove." The article partially reads "Critical need for additional hospital facilities in the Valley today will be met partly with the construction of Valley Presbyterian Hospital, a 100-bed institution, on Vanowen St. near Sepulveda Blvd., Van Nuys."
