Description
Original albums are missing from the sleeve. Liner notes on inside cover: "In this album London Records take pleasure in offering a selection of eight of the most famous and widely loved Strauss waltzes. These ever popular melodies must have been heard in a vast variety of guises -- from the grandeur of symphonic presentation to the "swing" versions of Blue Danube by power-house dance bands -- and it may be argued that there can be no new light on these old and tried favorites. But, in his arrangements, Ronnie Munro succeeds in giving us music which must bewitch the dancer's feet without for a moment sacrificing the melodic charm of these undying waltzes. Using an orchestra whose instrumentation is that of the dance band, with the addition of a full complement of string players, Munro, with rare discretion, joins two worlds of music by the hand in these streamlined yet suductive arrangements..."
