Description
Photograph of men making shoes at the Elias-Katz shoe factory in Los Angeles, 1930-1940. Around twenty men can be seen standing at tall wooden workbenches. The men are all wearing light shirts and dark aprons. They are working with leather, and some of the leather appears to be alligator skin. There are shelves of leather at right, and large windows let light in to the room in the background at left. A clock is hanging on a support column at center.
