Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of Los Angeles looking south from Hope Street and Sixteenth Street, ca.1890. A patch of small, leafless trees fill the foreground, obscuring a small garage to the right, to the left of which is a large, white cottage. Further left, more two-story, cottage-style houses are visible on lots enclosed by post-and-rail fence with the city's residential area stretching out behind them, where the houses are packed more closely together. Mountains are faintly visible along the horizon.
