Description
Photograph of the Long Beach Pier, ca. 1903. Hundreds of people are gathered on or near the pier, which extends from the bottom left center up to near the top left corner of the photograph. Many people and a few horses also walk on the sand near the pier and the ocean and its shore can be seen in the background, stretching out into the horizon. Also in the background near the top center of the photograph is an immense pavillion filled with people. A sign on the pavillion reads "Welcome to Long Beach".
