Photograph article dated March 31, 1965 partially reads, "Watching Jerry Lewis make a motion picture is an exhausting experience. The man is uncanny. If you could bottle his energy, you'd have a substance potent enough to rival a small A-bomb. He was shooting his newest film, 'The Family Jewels,' at a service station on Ventura Boulevard in North Hollywood, the day I stopped by to watch him work. He would climb on the boom with the cameraman to set up a shot, hop down, direct the other actors in a run-through, direct himself by watching a television monitor, rewrite dialogue on the spot; control sound effects via a telephone connecting him with the complicated tape playback machine he invented; and practically edit the film as it's shot by use of the television monitor gimmick. This too is a Lewis innovation." Photograph caption reads, "From a vantage point high on the camera boom, Jerry spotted a little girl standing with her grandmother on Ventura Boulevard, and later invited her to join him behind the camera."; See image #00127795 for additional photo in this series.
