Three homeless boys pose playfully for a photo. The boys on the left and the middle place their hands on each other's faces. Behind the boys is a wall of flyers with political propaganda. Painted over the flyers, a slogan reads, "NORMALES RURALES SOLUCION," which translates to "Solution to Normal Rural Schools." The 80's were considered the "lost decade" because of Mexico's debt crisis. This was due to the falling oil prices that left Mexico without foreign currency to pay off its $80 billion debt. This in effect, increased high levels of unemployement. In 1981, 52.5 percent of households in Mexico were considered poor. Tres niños sin hogar posan juguetonamente para una foto.
