Description
Interior of the Bank of Italy, with view of two male bank employees behind the "Cashier" and "Paying" windows. Photograph is mounted on wood, with a metal plaque that reads "Our Banking Office in 1910. On January 1, 1910, the Commercial and Savings Bank of San Jose became the first branch of Bank of America, then the Bank of Italy, outside of San Francisco. This photograph, taken the same year, is from the collection of Mr. Peter Avenali, whose father -- Ettore Avenali -- is shown at the center of the picture."
