Despite heavy security at the Coliseum last weekend, Rolling Stones fans still were able to find a place to wreak havoc. Canadian fans staying at the downtown Alexandria Hotel were blamed for causing an estimated $100,000 in damage and loss of revenue. The fans, who checked in Saturday, became increasingly rowdy during the day, according to hotel manager Carlos Banos. He said about 60 of the 200 rooms the Canadians were occupying were damaged. Banos said about 20 Italian marble tables were broken, six or seven antique chairs destroyed and doors to 20 rooms were kicked in. "They started to throw things out the windows--chairs, tables, everything." Most of the damage was discovered Sunday morning, after the fans--who ranged in age from 18 to 25--checked out to attend the concert. The 500-room, 12-story hotel, built in 1905 and host to such Hollywood liminaries as Charlie Chaplin and Rudolph Valentino, was renovated about 18 months ago for a cost of $3 million.
