Photograph was edited for publication purposes Marymount College, all female, was founded in 1933 in Los Angeles and later merged with St. Joseph College of Orange, and then with Loyola University to eventually form co-ed Loyola Marymount University in 1973. Marymount College was located at 10643 Sunset Boulevard in Westwood. Marymount High School is at that location today. Marymount California College (Rancho Palos Verdes) split from the original Marymount College (Westwood) in 1968. Photograph caption dated May 30, 1961 reads "Commencement exercises for Marymount College are scheduled for Wednesday on the Palos Verdes Estates campus, where His Emminence (sic) James Francis Cardinal McIntyre will preside. Seniors gathering to reminisce on past four years are, from left, Marianne Kiechle and Virginia Von Der Ahe, Studio City; Rose di Bartolomeo, Sherman Oaks, and Judy Erwin, Studio City." Marymount California College is located at 30800 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rancho Palos Verdes.
