Description
Photo of the tramway system on the incline. In 1864 a tramway system was installed on the slope of the hill that descended from the mine area to the furnaces below. The descending full ore cars pulled to the top the empty ore cars. At the bottom of the incline, mules were used to pull the full ore bins the remainder of the way to the furnace yard. Photo mounted on board. At bottom, label adhered to photo, typewritten: "Incline, Hacienda."
