Photograph article dated April 13, 1948 partially reads, "More than 100 Valley goats were on their way today to a San Francisco port of embarkation for shipment to Japan to furnish milk to nourish underprivileged babies of that country. Their first stop will be Modesto, where they will be gathered with 200 others for the trip across the Pacific on April 18. All have been tested for tuberculosis, Bang's disease and shipping fever."
