Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph caption dated March 11, 1964 reads, "Gloria Orr's father and sister, Lawson Clough and Mrs. Lenore Schoenleber, above, received word today that the plucky Sylmar woman died this morning." The article partially reads, "Flown to Texas on a mercy 'flight for life' via U.S. Air Force flying ambulance, Mrs. Orr had suffered burns over 90 per cent of her body in a motel explosion Feb. 29. She had lost more than one third of her skin and was given a 10 per cent chance to recover."
