Architect Archibald Gibbs designed the 1926 Carthay Circle Theatre, located at 6316 San Vicente Boulevard, in the Spanish Colonial Revival Style with Streamline Moderne influences. Fox-West Coast Theatres took over operation of the theatre in 1929. The theater was home to many premieres before it closed in 1969. It was demolished in the early 1970s. Auditorium ceiling partially lighted inside the Carthay Circle Theatre.
