Photograph caption dated June 15, 1964 reads, "Pierre Salinger, right, Democratic nominee for U. S. Senate, and Melvin J. David, congregation president of Temple Beth Hillel, 12326 Riverside Dr., North Hollywood, officiate at dedication of a flagpole to the memory of the late President John F. Kennedy. Salinger served as press secretary for the President. Funds for flagpole were raised by the children who are members of the congregation."
