Description
The Valley to Vietnam series, produced by Sacramento Public Library, traces the arc of experience of Vietnam era veterans living in the Sacramento, California area. New York-born Norman Hile served as a artillery forward observer with the Americal Division in Vietnam. His story takes us from the Ivy League to the U.S. Army of the 1970 and 71 in Vietnam that was dealing with issues of race and drug addiction. Hile's Vietnam experience led him into pro-bono legal work with Vietnam Veterans and a role as an anti-War activist.
