Description
Up close view of large navy ship. Ship is adorned with three suspected US flags, canons or guns, and military men/sailors.
It was very popular to illustrate naval views and battleships at this time. Because the war was fought in and around Cuba, men and material were transported via navy operations. A turning point in the war was actually the battles that were fought by the navy, where many Spanish fleets were often destroyed. (The World of Stereographs. Willism C. Darrah. Darrah Publishers, 1977. Pg. 190.)
