Photograph caption dated July 24, 1962 reads "Pat Southern, manager of the Swope Railroad Co., drives one of the miniature trains at the Griffith Park concession which must cease operation in 60 days. The park may be left without any trains if the Los Angeles City Council rejects or fails to act on a new 10-year contract awarded to Raymond C. Farber of Los Angeles. The Swope Co. lost its contract after competitive bidding."
