Description
It's a long jump from riding elephants in the jungles of India to whippig through the streets of Hollywood in a sleek roadster, but Sabu, the elephant boy of the movies, made it when he received his driver's license from Chief Raymond Cato, of the California Highway Patrol. Ever since Alexander Korda brought Sabu here for "The Thief of Bagdad," the young pachyderm pilot's one wish has been to drive his own car, so the producer finally agreed to accept the legal responsibility and permit him to take the driving tests. July 3, 1940.
