Photograph caption dated July 16, 1958 reads "Pretty Valerie Haynie, of Canoga Park, accepts North American Aviation scholarship from C. W. Guy, right, assistant general manager of company's Rocketdyne Division. Watching ceremony are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Haynie. She plans to enter Scripps College this fall. Her father is 19-year-old (sic) veteran with North American."
