Description
This collection of glass plate negatives and print photographs is rich with visual materials featuring natural landscapes and urban areas of California from the 1920s to 1940s. Some of these images were used as stock photos. These negatives were donated in 1994 by Rick, Tom, and Dan Olson, who own Olson Color Expansions (now Olson Visual) in Los Angeles. The Olsons acquired the images from three other professional photographic firms: Bob Martsch and Associates, Carroll Photo Service and Photomammoth Murals, all located in the Los Angeles area. Also included are numerous press release photos from government and industrial sources. The balance of the collection including military aerial negatives, small format glass plate and film negatives, and various photographic prints remain unprocessed. See Reference Archivist concerning access.
