Police suspected a grotesque "murder by fire" today in the death of an attractive divorcee (pictured), June S. Walker, 35, whose body was found at dawn in the ruins of her charred bungalow. Taken into custody on suspicion of murder pending an autopsy was Floyd Mallory, 44-year-old painter who admitted he was a resident in Mrs. Walker's home. The police arson bureau was investigating the unexplained fire. Photograph dated November 17, 1947.
