Rochester House, shortly after the start of its journey to a new site, ran into problems while making a right turn from Golden to Court Street on October 1, 1970. The side of the house brushed a power pole, loosening a shower of sparks and bringing down a primary high-tension wire. The operation drew scores of neighborhood residents and other interested citizens. A good time was had by all.
