Ansat som sygeplejerske på Diakonissestiftelsen, Frederiksberg, 1953-55 og på Aarhus Amtssygehus, 1955-56. Instruktionssygeplejerske fra Aarhus Universitet, 1957. Udsendt af DMS til Tanganyika/Tanzania, 1957-61 – som sygeplejelærer ved Ndolage Sygeplejeskole. (Var genudsendt hertil i 8 måneder, 1973-74). Efter hjemkomsten i 1961, et års studier på Seattle Universitet, USA, 1963-64. Senere videregående uddannelse ved Edinburgh Universitet, Skotland, 1977-78. Elisabeth Houe var en højt respekteret forstander ved Sygeplejeskolen, Aarhus Amtssygehus fra 1967-89. Gennem hele livet var hun aktivt studerende, og blev således cand. phil. i 1996. Elisabeth Houe døde i 1998. (Foto 1957)

Elisabeth Houe, b. 1927. Nurse from Aarhus County Hospital, 1953. Employed nurse at the Deaconess Foundation, Frederiksberg, 1953-55 and at Aarhus County Hospital, 1955-56. Nursing tutor from Aarhus University, 1957. Sent by DMS to Tanganyika/Tanzania, 1957-61 – for teaching at Ndolage Nursing School. (In 1973-74, re-sent to the school for 8 months). Following return to Denmark in 1961, Elisabeth Houe was sent for one year of studies at Seattle University, USA, 1963-64. Later she went for further education at Edinburgh University, Scotland, 1977-78. Elisabeth Houe was a highly respected Head of the Nursing School, Aarhus County Hospital from 1967-89. Throughout lifetime she continued with studies, and earned her Arts Graduate in 1996. Elisabeth Houe died in 1998. (Photo 1957).
