Description
This collection is an assortment of 233 items relating to mineral and petroleum resources in 18 California counties. In most cases there is only a single document for an entry. Dates range from 1868 to 1944; types of documents include mining engineer's reports, prospectuses, correspondence, and various legal instruments such as deeds, indentures, abstracts of title, claims, contracts, etc. There are two maps (for the Valley View Mine in Placer County and the Brooklyn Mine in San Bernardino County) and the La Grange Gold Mines report (Stanislaus County) includes some original photographs.
