Mary Pickford was a Canadian-born silent film actress, famously known as "America's sweetheart," co-founder of American Artists film studio, and one of the original founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Photograph caption dated November 13, 1941 reads "Mrs. F.B. Harrington, general chairman of convention with Mary Pickford." The two women are at the 48th annual United Daughters of the Confederacy convention. The event was held at the Biltmore Bowl, in the Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.
