Photograph caption dated November 17, 1943 reads, "Jap evacuee police are shown here securing baggage on a War Relocation Authority station wagon as another load of internees is ready to leave Manzanar Relocation Center for the Nevada line--and freedom. Those released, who depart in regular thrice-weekly schedules, include hundreds who twice in the past few months have flatly refused to signify their loyalty to the United States."
