Description
Original Description from KCET: 'Jose', longtime Olvera Street gardener Ginette Rondeau, born on Olvera Street; Belle Valadez, widow of 1st general manager of the street; Clarita Ruiz, the street’s oldest merchant; 'Olvera Street' offers an informal portrait of probably the most historically important thoroughfare in Los Angeles. Offering a glimpse of the lifestyle of the City of Angels at its inception nearly two hundred years ago, 'Life and Times' follows a day-in-the-life of the 'birthplace of Los Angeles.' Profiled are Jose, the official gardener, as well as many of the street’s business owners, workers and artisans.
