Los Angeles based Weber Showcase & Fixture Co., Inc. manufactured the large desk shown here and installed it at the fourth San Pedro Branch Library built in 1949. It became the Circulation Desk near the library entrance, seen in the background. According to a May 1, 1949 article in the Los Angeles Times, the building contained "soft green" walls with "blond oak furniture and shelves". The furniture was placed on "rubber interlocking block flooring", visible throughout the image.
