Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated July 21, 1960 reads "What's this? At war again? - North Hollywood Officer W. H. Macy is puzzled at sight he came upon in Sun Valley Park, 8133 Vineland Ave. Fact that John Osborne, 14, left, and Eddie Salleng, 12, were playing war wasn't too unusual, but what stumped Macy was fact that their 'toy,' an authentic 1,500-pound Japanese cannon, was supposed to be some five miles away. Macy later found out World War II relic had been stolen from San Fernando's Glen Haven Memorial Park, then abandoned in park."
