Description
Image shows view of the Palos Verdes Nursery located at 1005 Via Zumaya on lot part "C", tract 6890 in Lunada Bay. Visible are two workmen, one with a wheelbarrow, tending to plants inside a cold frame (a framework used for the process of hardening off seedlings for gardening and landscaping.) As related in the Palos Verdes Bulletin (November 1924), "To encourage planting of lots in advance of building and the setting out of trees and shrubs and also to provide a gardener service at reasonable cost, the Palos Verdes Project has established a large nursery at Lunada Bay where hundreds of thousands of young trees have been propagated and many fine ornamental shrubs and plants are available substantially at cost. This is done solely in the interest of property owners and is open only to bona fide purchases of Palos Verdes lots." Date Built: 1925 Photo Source: Palos Verdes Homes Association
