View of Nowalk Square, 1955. It took a long time for Norwalk to grow. In 1900 the population was 1050. Ten years later it was exactly the same! In 1920 it was only 1225, and in 1940 it had jumped to 5775. After the war it was 8400. Today, 76,160 people live there.
