Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. Description
Jane El Farra to Los Angeles from Missouri in 1956 with her mother. Jane's husband was from the Gaza strip (Khanyunis) and came to the U.S. crica 1956 to attend school in Texas. He later came to Los Angeles in 1958 and attended medical school at UCLA. They were married in 1959 and lived in West LA, Westchester, Garden Grove, Hollywood, and Los Feliz.
