Description
Photographs of Yurok Indians at Requa, California. Part of California Historic Landmarks and Missions folder (82/078/1632). "Hill across creek from Peokwau, "Peck-sal-o-mockweth." (?) A young man - Pecawam-a-hen(?) (means last house on up river end of Peokwau. He made this little hill for his bird. He hatched it in the sweat house. He got too big for sweat house, so made this little hill for him to sit on."
