Description: Photo shows the special luggage compartment with elevator to lift bags into the car, which is a feature of the new Southern Pacific Daylight streamliner. A porter is shown inside the train on January 4, 1940, adjusting the luggage after it has been lifted inside. The device keeps luggage out of the way of passengers in the vestibules.
