Description
Seven snapshots of a cocktail event held on the back lawn of a mid-century home that appears to be John & Geraldine Brooke's home in Woodside. Men and women are mingling on the lawn, holding champagne and other cocktails. All of the women are wearing cocktail dresses or suits, with hats and sometimes gloves. Two women are wearing large corsages. In one photo, two bartenders who appear to be African-American, are seen serving drinks at a table. In another photograph, a woman dressed in a domestic servant's uniform can be seen conferring with a guest, one of the women wearing a corsage (this may be Geraldine Brooke). This suggests that the women with corsage is the host of the event. The younger woman wearing a corsage may be related. Several of the people appear to be Richard Bliss, Margaret Bliss, Geraldine Bliss Brooke, Cecile Brooke, and Richard Brooke.
