Description: Workmen are shown loading bags of mail on the Santa Fe Chief before the train pulled out on May 25, 1946. The Santa Fe also sent its southbound streamliner from Oakland to Bakersfield, where passengers will continue on south by Trailways buses during the Southern Pacific Railroad strike.
