Photograph also was used for an article dated January 24, 1963. It reads, "Jesse M. Unruh, Assembly speaker, has one of the State Capitol's newest status symbols - a $3,500 bathroom with a shower. The Los Angeles Democrat thus becomes the third official with the special shower in his office. The others: Gov. Edmund G. Brown and Lt. Gov. Glenn Anderson." Photograph article dated January 4, 1963 partially reads, "Culture, rarely considered California's most important product, has a new and powerful friend in the Legislature: Assembly Speaker Jesse M. Unruh. For months Unruh has been detouring in his public speeches from such subjects as water and welfare to touch on the state of the arts in California. With the amount of leisure time increasing, Unruh would suggest, the state should not evade its responsibility for helping to make that time worthwhile."; See image #00121890 for additional photo in this series.
