Description
The Valley to Vietnam series, produced by the Sacramento Public Library, traces the arc of experience of Vietnam era veterans living in the Sacramento, California area. From happy beginnings in Modesto, California, Steve Lovejoy became a US Marine and member to one of the most harrowing Marine operations of the Vietnam War: September 1967's Operation Swift. From malfunctioning M-16s to Medals of Honor, Lovejoy's story provides a telling window into the life of a young Marine's in country experience.
