This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Washington Street looking east from Stockton St., 1888." View looks through Chinatown; the street is lined with three story masonry buildings. One Chinese man is crossing the street; others are engaged in business along the sidewalk. A crowd is gathered in the street down the hill towards Dupont watching something. The car tracks down Washington belong to the Omnibus Railroad Co.
