Photograph article dated December 15, 1961 partially reads, "It will be a family Christmas for the Joe E. Browns, who are putting together the pieces of their shattered lives. 'Joe and I will spend Christmas in Bradenton, Fla., with our daughter and her four children,' reported Mrs. Brown. 'We had Thanksgiving with our other daughter and her family here in Tarzana. We'll have New Year's in Pittsburgh with young Joe (general manager of the Pittsburg Pirates). "We also celebrate our wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve. It's 46 years this time. Forty-six years and I haven't hit him yet!' This may give you an indication of the spirit with which the Browns are recovering from the loss of all their belongings in the Bel-Air - Brentwood fire Nov. 6."
