Photograph shows initial stages of construction of Sacramento Valley Sugar Company in Hamilton City, Glenn County. On the factory site showing the gravel bank on which we proposed to locate. Beginning at left, the gentlemen are: Mr. Shay (one of the agriculturalists), Mr. E. C. Hamilton, Mr. J. McCoy Williams, Mr. C. Leonardt, expounding on the merits of the site, and Mr. W. M. Baur, one of the foremost sugar engineers in the United States. [To accompany MSS001 held in Special Collections, Meriam Library.]
