This was Mr. Shultis' old store in 1910, where earlier Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin tripped on a box while stepping up to the porch. Grateful to be saved from injury by Mrs. Shultis, he allowed Vineland, as the town then was known, to adopt the name of Baldwin Park. The store was at the northeast corner of Ramona Blvd. and Maine Avenue.
