Description
Photograph of group posing in front of Modjeska Park station on Santa Ana line, ca.1900-1910. At center, a group of six people are seen standing in front of the Pacific Electric Modjeska Park station. Five men and one woman are visible in the image. All the men wear formal attire except for the man on the left seated on the arm of a bench. The woman is seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt and formal skirt, and she clutches the strap of a small purse in her hands. The station behind the group is clearly identified by the wooden sign on its roof that reads: "Modjeska Park". The simple building is composed of three arched, open doorways and two small, rounded windows on its façade. The slanted, tiled roof is framed by two stone, bell-shaped decorations with a window indentation on its front. To the left of the building, a large wooden pole is seen with a small, pointed flag extending from its side. In the far background, several trees can be seen grouped to the left of the building. In the extreme foreground, a single set of tracks is visible next to the wooden platform of the station.
