Highly ornate moonstone at the bottom of the final flight of steps to approach the upper terrace of the shrine. A view from the flight of steps above it. It has several points of divergence from the typical embellished moonstone. As Godakumbuara observes (we paraphrase his comments here): thus the flame-motif usually found at the outer edge is now close to the central lotus from which it is separated only by a band of quatre-petal flowers. Beyond the circle of flames is a band of a floral pattern arranged in triangles and beyond that a rambling creeper. In the last sculptured band separated from the rambling creeper by a line of quartre-petal flowers is a line of animals: elephants, bulls and horses. The horse occurs only twice and the lion is completely absent. We also observe that the band of geese is missing here. Length: 7 feet, 11.5 inches, breadth: 4 feet.
