Description
Photograph shows a parade float for the Native Sons of the Golden West. The float does not appear to be attached to a truck. On the float is a model of what may be a Spanish mission or church. In addition to some potted plants, one American and one California flag complete the float's design. Written on the front of the float: "Palo Alto Parlor - 216. N.S.G.W." The Native Sons of the Golden West was founded in 1875. It is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history of California. Local chapters are known as parlors. Scanned with Microtek Scanmaker 1000XL Pro; as a 600 dpi TIFF image in 8-bit Grayscale. Auto Level image processing applied and compressed into JPEG format using Photoshop CS3.
